There are a few galleries with objects, pictures and drawings made by kids depicting the bombings as they saw them. There is also a video with scenes from the Spanish Civil... More

I know less than I should about the Spanish Civil War but this museum helped expand my knowledge considerably as I had not previously been aware of how the innocent civilian population had got involved in the brutality of war. The museum is situated within caves which were used during the war by civilians to shelter from the aerial bombing... More

Very informative if you are interested in this type of museum, telling the history of how the refuge shelters were built in Cartagena in 1937, during the Cival War

It is possible buy a ticket for the museum and the panoramic lift up to the castle for about 4.50 euros. The museum takes you through a network of shelters built into the rocks. The shelters were used by civilians during bomb attacks. There are films and sound effects which give you an idea of what a dramatic period this was... More

From walking into the exhibit, everything gives you the sense of a country at war. The displays are thought-provoking and this is not the kind of thing I would usually enjoy, but it was so well done.
