Of special interest are Gaya' s Hommages. These watercolors are of still lifes with a painting in the background of an iconic painting by a master, for instance Picasso and van Gough. His poster illustrations are masterful quick sketches which convey the essence of the topic with just a few lines.

I had a really nice walkabout tour of this city, what a lovely place!! I stumbled upon this place, didn't have time to go in, but it is just worth visiting for it's exterior beauty anyway, spectacular winged statue on the top and a couple of really nice sculptures nearby. Will go in next time I am here.

An excellent outing for a rainy day in Murcia (of which there are not many in a year). Before we went to Murcia we had never heard of this artist. He is a wonderful artist and a son of the city. The museum is housed in a lovely old mansion in Plaza Santa Catalina. We loved his work.
