The fortress walls are a bit of a walk to get to but well worth the effort. What remains is only a part of what existed but it is still very impressive for the scale of the building. A replica can be seen at the Archive Building next to the Cathedral Hotel.

I hadn't have the time to visit the fortress and walls of Pamplona in my previous stays, so I'm glad I did it this time, as they are huge and impressive, and because they are also quite well preserved.

Walk round the walls, look down at the birds and animals in the old moat, it is so peaceful and pretty. On a sunny day you could not be anywhere nicer. All Pamplona parks are clean and well looked after. There are really lovely walks all over the city.

We walked the fort walls and crossed over the bridge and through the tunnel to emerge into a lush and peaceful park. A total surprise and we spent a lovely hour walking around and having some fresh croquettes from the vender set up next to the armory. The gates open out into the street at the opposite side of the... More

In the cool of the morning or evening a stroll along the walls is a really pleasant way to get a feel for what towns did to survive and protect their people so many years ago.

Enjoyed walking along the walls and seeing the avery below. Chickens, geese, ducks.....fun to watch. The walls are set in a lovely park and you have great views of the mountains and the new city below. I sat by a fountain and read a book. Very relaxing.

Enjoyed a lovely Sunday afternoon stroll through the Old Town of Pamplona. The views across to the hills from the fortress walls are really impressive. An incredibly well preserved stronghold. Crowds we sparse so it was very quiet and peaceful at that time.

Gorgeous park around Pamplona. Lots of history of the fortress protecting the city proper. Experience it up close and personal.
