I read somewhere that although there are only around 200 residents in Guadalest, this enchanting mountain topped village is visited by about 2 million tourists a year! So be prepared for it to be a little busy at peak periods! Although off the beaten track it is well worth a visit. There are a number of bars and cafes to... More

Getting involved in one of the coach trips to Guadalest will be one of the most memorable places to visit. The ride in the coach itself is fascinating, as I have never been up so high in a coach! Once there the village itself is soooooo different, and everywhere seems to be unique. The Monastery is amazing...when we went a... More

One of a number of attractions in Guadalest, all are worthy of a visit. The town is walled and entrance is via a hole (gate) in the mountain. Tourist tat shops have sprung up on the perimeter but are easily ignored.

Seriously, This place is amazing. The history makes it special. As you walk through the mountain entrance into the fortifications you can really imagine how they kept thousands of enemy soldiers out. On top of the history, the views are stunning. It's a must see in my book.

First rate tourist attraction but certainly not over crowded the day we visited. Rich in history but a long trek up to the Monastery. Definitely become more touristy than when we last visited some 13 years ago. At that time to get up to the entrance of the Monastery you could ride a donkey but those days are gone and... More

We have visited Guadalest several times over the years and its certainly worth the visit. Its an old fortified town, full of history and gets quite busy especially during the Summer months. plenty of places to eat and shop as well as the motorcycle museum which is further down on the valley on the Collasa - Guadalest road, a must... This place is fabulous. It is a fortified town and I would think very secure. There are many lovely if touristy shops where you can browse freely. There are museums and restaurants and recently added an interesting sculpture park. A little distance away is an interesting shop selling Lladro exhibition pieces which are wonderful. From Guadalest one may look down... More

We visited here at the end of February, unfortunately the weather wasn't good. We caught the local bus from Benidorm €7.30 return, only one bus there and back which left Benidorm at 10.15 and returned from Guadalest at 1.30 we had plenty of time to do what we wanted with the weather but if it as a nice day you...
