This place was built by the silk merchants during Spain's golden century. It really must have been good to be a silk merchant, if they could afford this kind of market building! Think Wall Street - only 4 centuries before the golden age of that place. You can see it in half an hour - and it is time well... More

This is the old silk market and is really beautiful. The main hall is particularly stunning but the whole place is interesting well worth a visit.

This beautifully restored building seems more like a restored monastery than a silk traders market. The beautiful architectural details and the story of its history make it well worth a visit

The famed Silk Exchange, a gem of Gothic architecture, was built in 1469, and is a soaring symbol of the city's prosperous silk industry. Overlooking the Plaza del Mercado, It bears witness to Valencia's Renaissance trading power. My spouse and I were on a Viking Cruise shore excursion, as as such, we were only allowed to view the exterior, which... More

In the city centre, close to the market place, very cheap ticket, impressive interior architecture (although the rooms are empty), a short visit is enough. Should visit if you're visiting the old city centre of valencia.

This silk hall seems like a temple to commerce, with a main hall of torqued columns that is simply elegant. I'm glad I went on sunday though when entrance was free because except for sitting in its interior courtyard, there is not a lot else to see.

Interesting history and worth visiting. However it is very small. It takes only 10 minutes to see the whole place.

An impressive building with a huge hall with columns in gothic style and two smaller rooms with a presiding table and chairs, but not much more too see. Well, one more thing - a small nice garden with orange trees. Free entrance with Valencia tourist card.
