What a stunning Piazza! The restaurants are fabulous, and the atmosphere is amazing! Plenty of shops to visit, and restaurants to choose from.

We went to Piazza Tasso 3 times while in Sorrento. We had drinks twice (at two different places and lunch at another. It's the hub of Sorrento... you aren't rushed (even if only having a lemon soda) you can sit, relax and enjoy the hubbub.

You can't help but go to Piazza Tasso when you visit Sorrento, as it really is at the centre of everything. Plenty of bars and restaurants. In the evening it is largely pedestrianised and well policed. You really must go.

This is the center of town, where all the action is. It's a good place for people watching, but not many places to sit down. It is a good place to meet friends and begin your shopping excursion. There is a great inlaid wood store...More

The square serves as a good focal point to orient yourself when visiting the town - whether you wish to go further into the town or down to the port.

Afternoon/evening visits in August are to be avoided. It's absolute bedlam. Get up nice and early for a stroll around the town to appreciate it properly. Lots of the usual tourist type shops selling tat but also lots of nice little boutiques and small family...More

This is the core of Sorrento.... During Christmas time there is a beautiful shining Tree. There are many historical places which surround the Piazza. Simply beautiful...

just got back from 11 nights stay in Sorrento. I certainly wouldn't drive there. It's crazy! The tour guide we had for Pompei said there's a saying in Italy, "after me, everyone is first". She was referring to the queuing... More
