A visit to the museum encompasses many things - a beautiful church; spectacular architecture in the cloisters; stunning views over the sea / city; a naval museum; old carriages; fascinating original Neapolitan art works; exhibition of clay figurines from crib screen and much more. It's good to see money being invested in preserving the building but some parts aren't open... More

The Certosa di San Martino is a church which is amazingly richly ornamented - an abundance of inlaid colored marble, sculpture, and paintings, set at the top of the hill overlooking the city of Naples. The cloister, and the rooms of the monastery, now a museum of art and history, afford excellent views of the Bay of Naples, and have... More

A gorgeous veiw awaits you when you finally get all the way up on top of the hill. you look out over all of Naples and the Bay of Naples and Mt Vesuvius. Inside are fabulous frescoes, carved church decorations, elaborate crèches fro Christmas, gold boats and carriages, marble carvings, etc. And teirs of gardens and vineyards and orchards. Sometime... There is lots to see here with beautifully decorated interiors, rooms filled with treasures & beautiful gardens where you have a panoramic view of Naples. Expect to spend a few hours here drinking in the culture of long ago. There are modern parts too including rooms with long canal papal like boats. This literally buts onto the Castel Sant'Elmo. You... More

They have a large presepe collection and garden with a really nice Napoli view. I think that it is worth to visit.

This may be out of the way and up a hill, but for anyone who likes art and architecture, it is worth taking the climb or the funiculare for part of the way. One of Naples' unmissable gems. The main church has a staggeringly beautiful ceiling and some quite wonderful paintings by Ribera, Giordano and Stanzoni -- and the extensive... More

Beautiful building with many attractive spaces and artworks. I was particularly enamoured with the row of chapels behind the main church. Oh, and the views! Excellent value for money, which cannot always be said about Naples attractions.
