Castel Nuovo is located very near of the port where the cruise ship docked. It is a small castle. It is free entrance unless you taking the guide tour. Just walk around the ground, looked at the courtyard and taking few pictures should be enough.

Was really astonished to see such a big castle within a city. Always wondered how those people in those era found a way to build something this big and strong without the current technology. Does not enter the castle. Not worth it they say. Just the outside is already more than enough for tourists. A beautiful view can be taken... More

My partner and I visited Naples for a weekend in January 2017. On the Sunday we decided to visit Castel Nuovo, a 12th century castle near the centre of town. There we decided to go on a 45 minute tour led by one of the group of guides, who all study the castle's history as archeologists. Our tour was great,... More

It's an incredible view from an amazing castle. Inside the castle there is an exposition of art. Following some comments from people i don't get inside, but only to see it from outside is worth it.

This one is a great ancient coast protection structure, works very well as a tourist attraction because is very nice since the first minute you see it, inside you will find a museum and a beautiful structure in the top, this general tour will take no more than 30 min, there are some extreme activities inside one of the towers... When it rains in Naples it really rains! We were on our way to catch the Ischia ferry and had some time to kill when the heavens opened and we scurried into Castle Nuovo not having planned to see it whilst we were in Naples. We were pleasantly surprise with the place. It's an imposing medieval fortress overlooking the harbour... More

We chose to visit this beautiful castle with a guide, Marco, who was very attentive, precise and friendly. We went through some areas which didn't seem to be open to non-guided tours and had a fun experience visiting the different chambers and hearing about the history of the city. I definitely recommend it.

Unless it's very rainy, you can enjoy this Castle standing outside and saving 6 euros. Most of the floors are closed

A must visit. Various spaces to visit inside. Very interesting and educational about the history of French and Spanish previous domination. A great tour given by Marco.

I took the 10€ tour. It was a great tour and very informative of the history of castle. I recommend tourists to visit this historical place when visiting Napoli.
