We walked thru this on our tour. I was amazed at how grand it was with the gardens too. There was so much color still on the walls.

This is a large house of a wealthy family and contains a lot of interest in the layout and decoration. There is a lovely peristyle garden and interesting fresco paintings.

It almost felt alive! That was one of the highlights of our visit. With Rossana (Tours of Pompeii with Lello and Co) at our side, we were almost transported back into those days, and felt it all as if it was today. So impressive to...More

One of the largest and most interesting houses in Pompeii. It has its name of Menander, Athenian playwright, which placed on portico.

this luxury residence is a gem. Many of the walls still have the wonderful artwork on them. The outdoor garden in the center of the property is really cool. The skeleton remains are eerie-but intriguing as well. One of my favorite stops in the city

Although the excavation and site is much more manage de than it was 40 years ago upon my first visit, and so much less was available to experience first hand, there is still reason for awe.
