I went here as the supervising teacher of a group of high school students on a study trip to Rome, and learned a couple of things. First, many of my students felt as I did, that this was our best experience in Rome. Second, Chef Andrea is not just an excellent cook, he is an excellent teacher. We had 19... More

We (wifey and I) had a great cooking class with Chef Andrea, lots of fun. We learnt to prepare a range of Roman dishes - with a big feast at the end. One of the highlights was getting to make a superb Carbonara (classic dish) and Roman Style Artichokes (Carciofi alla Romana) - yum - and better than professional restaurants.... More

We booked the class in advance because our daughter was interning with the chef while she studied in Rome for the semester. I went in not knowing what to expect for a class listed as 10am-3pm, which seemed like a long time to spend cooking. Boy was I ever impressed with Chef Andrea and his operation! We begin with a... I have taken this class 3 times before and I am going back!! Chef Andrea is the best instructor that I have had. I take classes in the States but none like these. A great value!

We were the third group of our family to take this course. My brother in law and my daughter and their spouses had taken it last year. It lived up to all of our expectations and then some. My husband was a bit skeptical about taking a "cooking class." We also took it with our other daughter and her husband.... More

Staying in Trastevere

Neighbourhood Profile
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
