We had 3 full days in Rome with our two boys aged 9 and 11. We chose to take 3 3 hour morning tours with Silvia. We went to the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, Forum, Trevi Fountain and Pantheon one morning. We did an underground tour including St Clement Basilica and a catacomb visit. And the last morning we spent at... More

We are a family of four- new to Rome and no experts at history! Silvia found the perfect balance of providing good information without it being too heavy for our children. We really enjoyed it- and and came away much better informed! I would strongly recommend Silvia.

We were honored to be guided around Rome by the most knowledgeable, friendly, easy to understand local anyone could hope for. Silvia was indeed a "Friend in Rome", and after 3 days as our personable and knowledgeable companion we would welcome her as a friend in our home! My teenage children bubbled with excitement in her company and have gushed... More

I cannot recommend "A Friend in Rome" highly enough. From arranging entrance to less-visited sites in Rome itself (Domus Aurea, House of Livia on Palatine Hill) to day-long excursions outside Rome (to Lake Nemi, Anzio, Pontus, and Subiaco, to visit lesser-known sites associated with the Emperor Nero), everything was done in a pleasing, efficient, and professional manner, and just as... Our tour guide took us on two different walking tours in as many days. Each tour lasted about 4 hours and we must've walked 8 kms each time. Day 1 was a tour of the city center and Colosseum. Day 2 was the Vatican museums and St. Peter's Basilica. Our guide was wonderful. A native Roman, Luca spoke excellent English... More

We did two different tours with A Friend in Rome in October 2016-one was of the Colosseum & the other was a city walking tour with highlights of food, shops & history. We enjoyed both of them. Each guide (Silvia & Arianna) was well informed and had an expertise that surpassed all our expectations. They communicated well (great English), answered... More

We are a family group of six adults who recently returned from a trip to Italy, and it was my pleasure to use Silvia's services for the second time! We met Silvia six years ago when we traveled to Rome as a family with our three daughters, ages 11, 14 and 17. She introduced us to the city with a... More

We had a free day in Rome between 2 tours. We wanted visit catacombs, see the acqueducts and the Appian Way. They put together a 4 hour tour that exceeded our expectations.
