We took the "Taste of Testaccio" food tour with Kate. All I can say is, make sure you do this if you visit Rome. We had a group of 10 and it was a brilliant day with great company, amazing food and Kate topped everything off with her knowledge, understanding and passion. I can't recommend this tour highly enough and... More

I did the Taste of Testaccio Food Tour with Kate who did a wonderful job. The tastings were authentic Italian food and gave a very good insight into this too little visited neighborhood. I loved the little historical stops as well. I particularly loved seeing the market and meeting the people behind the food.

We took the "The Taste of Testaccio Food Tour" with Kate and had a truly wonderful time. She is a great guide and really helped us understand Roman Cuisine. We're hoping to go to Amsterdam next year, we'll be booking their tour there as well

Marco was the perfect host; enthusiastic about Italian wine and food and eager to share his love of the subject with the attendees. The wine and food were all excellent, made all the better with Marco's expert descriptions and explanations. Highly recommended.

Our tour was with Emma in Testaccio and she was delightful! Every location was well planned out and close in proximity. Not only was the tour delicious but also very informative. We were able to get out of the tourist area and get to experience where the locals eat! We went to 8 different establishments and they were all delicious... More

The Twilight Trastevere Food Tour in Rome was one of my favorite things to do while I was there. I was only in Rome for a couple of days after a week on the Amalfi Coast, so I needed to make the most of my time. My friends and I were able to book this and enjoy a fantastic evening... More

This tour was truly fantastic, allowing us to sample a wide variety of Italian delicacies in a range of locations. We found out more about the local neighbourhood, as well as learning more about some local history. The tour was well planned, so there was short stroll between locations and a well needed "culture" visit in the middle to give... More

Luca was an awesome guide during our Food Tour in Trastevere. It was clear that he had a love for his job and for food! We learned so much about not only the local food, but the overall culture as well. We visited seven locations and by the end of the tour we were absolutely stuffed. Do not plan to... More

Our guide had an excellent knowledge about the history and the food of this area of Rome and delivered it in a way that was interesting and fun. The time went really quickly. The food stops covered a real variety of restaurant and street food; and everything in between. The vegetarian in our party was well catered for too. It... More

My husband and I went on the Trastevere evening walking tour - it was by far one of our favorite experiences in Rome! Our tour guide was amazing and our small group was so much fun. We went to about 8 different restaurants and tried so many delicious traditional foods. Bring gluten-free, I was worried about going on a good... More

Staying in Testaccio

Neighbourhood Profile
Testaccio
Put the house music on replay and you have Testaccio, an ancient Roman port and former working class neighbourhood where the bass is set to high almost every night of the week. Its collection of discoteche (nightclubs), street parties, and crowded restaurants give it its well-deserved party reputation. During the daytime, Testaccio is more easy listening than club hit, the area is full of locally owned small businesses and has one of the city's larger produce markets.
