In 1997 we came across a technological innovation from the US that astonished us. We were so taken with it that we decided to export it to Italy, knowing what a great impact the idea could have here. This was the Segway, and that’s how Segway Roma came about.

We were the pioneers of Segway tours and Segway rentals, and the first to introduce this brilliant means of transport to Italy. 20 years on, we are now a leading company in Rome with a huge range of vehicles, and can organise tours for groups of any size.

You can hire a Segway for a set period to go off and explore Rome on your own, or choose one of our tours and let our expert guides show you around; either way, it will be a memorable experience.

A very good itinerary with a pleasant guide. We coincided with Black Friday so going down the main shopping street was a bit of a challenge but fun. We had time to visit the main spots along the way while the Segways were parked but we did not get much information from the guide. It was more a do it... More

It seems difficult but we learn pretty quickly; and some adrenalin. First attempt I think 30 minutes is enough. Guys were very kind and helpful. I will repeat it

Our guide was awesome! He took his time to carefully teach us how to ride the segways and made sure we were totally safe to park. He's knowledgeable and entertaining. I recommend this tour for the young adults and those older adults who are young at heart. This was probably her favourite tour while we were in Rome!!!

Our family of four, including two kids (ages 12 & 13) rented Segways this morning from Ahmed in the Borghese Gardens. It was one of the highlights of our stay. We had a quick orientation-very easy and safe, and then we were off rolling around this lively park (it was Saturday so lots of tourists and locals). A fantastic and... More

We didn't take a guided tour but rather rented a pair of Segways for the entire day. This made our visit to Rome much more convenient than the previous one! There is a lot to see in the city and walking is both time consuming and very tiring. That Segway rental (which we only thought about after landing in Rome)... More

We had looked into doing a Segway tour and were told the kids had to be 15, so we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at Villa Borghese Gardens and saw the group with Segway's. We rented for an hour and rode around the gardens. It was a great way to cover the gardens. Our kids, ages 14 and 11... More

From reserving the tour before arriving in Rome to rolling through the city with our guide Rogilio, we had a first-rate experience. Our guide was knowledgable and made our trip entertainingly educational. We much preferred touring as a family rather than as a part of a group and Ecogo was the way to go. I was surprised that this outfit... More

Our grandson wanted to ride a Segway on our trip to Rome, but I wasn't sure he would want to do a four hour tour. Also, he is 13, and many of the tour companies had an minimum age of 16. Thanks to the TRipAdvisor Rome Forum, I was directed to Ecogosegway. They have two locations at Villa Borghese Park,... More

Our fun, knowledgeable guides took us to see so many great sights over the course of an afternoon. This is a wonderful way to cover far more ground than you can on foot but still feel the city since you're not enclosed in a car or bus. The Segway is easy to ride, and weaving in and out among the... More

Staying in Campo Marzio

Neighbourhood Profile
Campo Marzio
From its original role as ancient army training fields to its present-day identity as one of the city’s most desirable neighbourhoods, the Campo Marzio is the best place to get lost in Rome. Gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque palazzos line the streets, and are filled with enticing boutiques and food shops. By day, Rome’s best-dressed denizens criss-cross its streets in a fashionable parade of errands, occasionally pausing to look fabulous in gorgeous piazzas like San Lorenzo in Lucina. Campo Marzio can be a bit of a sleeper after aperitivi hour (21:00), so visit by day and experience the pulse of daytime Rome.
