Came upon this bridge as we were walking to Stadio Olimpico (to watch Roma v Udinese). It was quite a surprise, as it isn't on my Rome map. I note it was opened in 2011, so obviously my map is somewhat out of date! It's a beautiful bridge, and I took a few photos of my son there - see... More

We walked to this bridge at about 6 pm and it was getting to be evening. There wasn't much there but skate boarders and kids and some older people out for a walk. The bridge is in Rome and not a mad house compared to the tourist areas. Something in Rome is better than nothing. Loved it.

This bridge is absolutely useless: is not for cars and links two areas that didn't need this link. Is a beautiful structure but is completely different from the rest of the city around it.

I ended up here thanks to a friend who is one of the avid cyclists of Rome, a fast growing community. As soon as I stepped on the bridge I felt that I was leaving the city and all its worries behind me! It gave me an amazing feeling of suspension in the midst of a bustling city where hardly... More

Ponte della Musica (music bridge) is an interesting, if controversial, new addition to Rome's modern architecture. The bridge has been criticized for, among other things, "going nowhere," as it connects the populated Prati to the not very populated Monte Mario area. It's a sweeping, rolling structure with wooden walkways, and it feels vaguely nautical. The bridge was designed by the... More

Staying in Flaminio

Neighbourhood Profile
The Flaminio area has been making a name for itself as a hub for contemporary architecture and art. Over the past decade, Flamino’s grassy knolls have seen the rise of cultural centres - amazing feats of architecture like the beautiful Ponte della Musica, the wavy contemporary art MAXXI Museum, and the futuristic Parco della Musica, a music complex where international names perform. Flaminio also has traces of the 1960 Olympic Games with Palazzetto dello Sport and Villagio Olimpico, the athlete’s Olympic village turned residential housing. If culture means a ball and a foot, keep your eye on the prize: Rome’s famed Stadio Olimpico football stadium is just a short walk across a bridge.
