Probably the most famous chapel in the world because of its incredible artwork, notably "The Last Judgment," Michelangelo's stunning fresco covering 10,000 square feet of the ceiling and wall.

This was to be the highlight of my trip to Rome as when I was here many years ago, it was closed for renovation. I organised a wheelchair. One of the "staff" in St Peters Square advised it was 10 minutes walk. It took me just over an hour and when I arrived, I went to the desk to get... More

After a great tour of the Vatican Gardens and Museums... we finally reached the prestigious Sistene Chapel! I was amazed at how big and crowded it was! Only let down is that you can't have a photo of it. The security guards are REALLY strict! They always told you to be quiet as it was a sacred place, then if... More

Booked My "skip the line tickets" before I left well worth it. When we came out the queues were way down the road , The Sistine chapel itself needs to be seen , such an experience

Our visit to the Vatican was incomplete without the walking thru fantastic Sistine chapel . The long walk through the different museum chambers was a bit tiring but very worthwhile since we were able to visit the main chapel at the very end . The irksome fellow tourists insisted on taking photos prompting loads of polite rebukes by the alert... More

Definitelly an amazing piece of art from Michelangelo...though the room of ancient maps is at least equally impressive!! Take your time to visit also all the other places of the museum.. it is worth the time!

We reached the SIstine Chapel only almost at the end of the suggested itinerary of the Vatican Museums. There was 2 ways to get in but we chose the more direct way which led us down a narrow path. Inside the visitors were crammed into a rather small room, standing and looking up at the marvelous ceiling painting. We found... More

Nothing beats the art of Michael Angelo. Some might be a little disappointed because the chapel seemed smaller than what one would normally expect. And the ceiling is high is it is a bit hard to see the details. And then there's probably hundreds in the small location. It's so noisy even if someone would constantly remind everyone to be... Tips for visit: Purchase Vatican museum tickets from official site in order to skip line and book guided tour. Guided tour is 2 hrs. Guide will leave you moments before entry into Sistine Chapel. Avoid hawkers selling skip the line tickets otherwise you may pay far more than official site. Obey rules about no talking, no photos or no sitting... More
