a very impressive library, now a museum. The central great reading hall is flanked by smaller specialty libraries, with an overwhelming collection in all fields of bibliography, all in a dignified scholastic atmosphere.

A reason to visit Bologna - the oldest University has, naturally, the oldest library....... A very moving place.

What a fabulous place. The coats of arms from past students turned it into an art gallery. Free to get into and wander at leisure. Really enjoyed our visit.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the library at the Bologna university. A local high school student guided us through the library (Adrianne) and she was fantastic. Definitely worth a visit!

My alma mater. So I may be little biased but you can't argue that the library where people like Dante and Copernicus passed by could be the most beautiful in the world. Don't miss this. Seriously

This library is very impressive with its wood panelling, quaint fixtures and chairs. It has a lot of atmosphere and is well worth a visit.

I do not know whether there are tours: A friend took me there, showing the university of Bologna. For sure there you can find the secretary which can answer to your questions.
