We "dropped" in and bought tickets at the entrance (€6 each) card payment only. The lower Egyptian floor was great, plenty to see, well laid out and with English text. Upstairs led to a mixed area of roman, neolitic and bronze age but sadly very few had english text. For this we give 4 star but with more English 5 star.

A good museum. The Egyptian exhibition was great, but didn’t always have descriptions in English. The pottery collection was extensive and well organised by theme. The organisation of the first floor didn’t promote a thorough understanding of the history behind the material culture. Thanks! :)

I visited the Etruschi temporary exhibition. Very well done, with a clear timeline of the different phases of the civilisation in the first part of the exhibition and a geographical organised display in the second part. “Vintage” video projected on walls complement with a dynamic touch. The balance achieved is in my opinion really enjoyable. Bilingual (Italian and English) panels and audio guide help guiding the visitor. Interesting not only for people with a specific interest in the Etruschi but also for them interested in cultural and artistic exchange in ancient civilisation. The influence of Greek civilisation is evident.

We saw the Egyptian exhibits, ancient artifacts and sculptures. They were really quite interesting, but there was very few English descriptions to help one's understanding. The sculpture exhibit had to do with ancient athletes, and offered more in the way of understanding. It's ok for a rainy day activity. If pottery is your thing, there was lots of that too.
