Via dell'Indipendenza is a street between railway station and Piazza Maggiore in Bologna. It has covered arcades on each side. Houses have shops, bars, even some churches on each side. Main part of it is pedestrian zone during weekend.

Good for shopping, lounging in cafes and eating in restaurants. The usual shopping street but Christmas lights were very tastefully designed like curtains on stage.

Big shopping street, with lots of shops you find in every big city. Nothing special. It is better to go to the smaller Streets with unique shops and boutiques.

Twice during my visit, the street has been closed to traffic. It seems to be busy most of the time. When you are walking under the porticos, you notice the shopping but you do not notice the magnificent churches unless they have their doors open.

A long street full of shops and interesting details but there is not enough place for walking and that can cause some crowded effect.

A long shopping street, with porticos on both sides. You can enjoy magazines and walking the city streets.

This this a cool street on weekends as they blocked off traffic and only pedestrians are allowed to walk along the streets where there are boutiques and cafes where people can sit outside and chill or people watch.
