Happened to arrive during Mass which was nice as it was Sunday. Afterwards, spent time walking around and trying to take in all the artistic renderings. It's like a museum (a lot of Italian churches are) and would take some time to truly appreciate.

A lovely church in a quiet part of town. If you are just strolling around Parma, this is a must see.

Worth a visit while in Parma. Exterior is unique and beautiful inside but of course the catedral in the same town overwhelms it. But take a look.

In church are tombs of 26 members of Farnese family, which were Dukes of Parma. It has a baroque altar and in the aspe is a beautiful fresco of the Coronation of the Virgin with Saints.

First of all, Parma, the entire town is amazing. It's not a tourist trap, and it's not a gritty, dirty mess (like Rome or Bologna). Maria Della Steccato has as good as or better artwork than any other basilica you can visit. It's free. That's the difference, down to earth accessibility. Construction of this beauty began in the 1500's. Statues... More

There is so much to see. Give yourself enough time to sit in various parts of the basilica so that you can appreciate its grandeur. Well maintained, beautiful preservation, worth a long visit. Whitebeard83

after visiting the Cattedrale and the Battistero, this Basilica will fall back, but it is still worth to visit, as it is just a five minutes walk from the Cathedral and located next to the Teatro Regio and the Palazzo della Pilotta.

Sometimes it is called the little brother of the cathedral. I think with it treasures it is one of the top ten attraction in Parma.
