We took the short tour and although it was only in Italian we got a good enough historical description. You only visit the Stalls and Entrance areas but this is sufficient to give you a visual flavour of this wonderful old building. I am not one for Opera really but the sight of this building made me wish we had... More

Parma audiences are highly opinionated and perhaps somewhat provincial, but it is a very special experience to attend opera with people who CARE about it and take it seriously. This is a soberly elegant theater that is about 200 years old. There are interesting performances throughout the year, but especially in October when there is the month-long Verdi Festival in... While I was visiting Parma the Opera House was presenting the annual Verdi festival. Ticket prices were way beyond my budget but I was able to join a tour in English. You only visit the auditorium but this is splendid. It is very much a standard design of the period but it is beautifully maintained. It also has a very... More

we had a tour round the theatre. not a big trip, but well worth seeing. beautiful layout, decor and ambience. I'm not one for an opera, but probably would have given it a go in this location. maybe next time round.

We went to hear Don Carlos at the opening night of Verdi Festival. The theater is beautiful and the performance was outstanding. Definitely a highlight of our stay in Parma.

We had pre-booked tickets for a solo piano concert with G Sokolev last week. Easy web booking, collected when arriving at the venue. He played 2x45 minutes with Shumann and Chopin, then 6 extra entrances with new pieces (!). The concert hall is fantastic , we had seats in the parket, on the 5 row on the end, 3 comfy... More

On the day of the performance (Sunday afternoon) I went to the box office and purchased a 10 euro standing room seat in the nosebleed level. This entailed hiking 5 flights of steps to hear a wonderful rendition of Elixir of Love. I was amazed at the quality of sound in the hall.

A beautiful opera house. We saw Swan Lake, initially I booked tickets through Select Italy but luckily cancelled them before the order was processed. I bought them directly from the theatre for 1/3 of the price and picked them up at the will call. Balcony seating on the 3rd floor, it was awesome.

Being a lover of opera, I consider myself so lucky to have seen "L'elisir d'Amore" at this beautiful, historical opera house performed by an excellent cast. Great artists, wonderful stage design and production... The previous week I was at La Scala, and I would openly say that I enjoyed this one even better. I would recommend it to anyone into... More
