Together with Ferrara, Piacenza has the ancient walls. Two-thirds of the 6,5 km are still visible. They were built in 16th century under the government of Farnese’s family.

Piacenza town walls date back from the 16th c. Of course the city has spread outside the ramparts in the following centuries, but the walls have been preserved and they offer a chance for pleasant walks in the green.

It is interesting to walk to the old Roman city wall. There are still two parts visible, but it seems to me, that the city doen't take care of it.

These are two sections of the old town walls that are still standing. While there is nothing exceptional about them, it does make for a nice afternoon, or morning stroll.
