Spent some time in Ravenna touring the historic sites. Battistero Degli Ariani was our first stop. This tiny gem of a chapel offers a free taste of Ravenna's artistic heritage with a stunning mosaic ceiling under its octagonal dome. One of many relics of the...More

This is a gem. Not a must see, but if you're doing the mosaic route in Ravenna, don't miss it. Not as devastating as some other places but it's smaller, and there is something very moving about the central mosaic of Jesus's baptism (at least...More

The Battistero of the Arians is another place obligatory in Ravenna. Apart of the mosaics is surprising the original floor. The entrance is comprised in the 5 attractions of Ravenna.

This was a nice visit. While similar to another in Ravenna it is different as well as older. Too bad the church in front is not open.

Though the Lonely Planet guide for Italy published last year in 2016 indicated that this attraction was free, today it is 1€ to see a very small old church with some magnificent mosaics on the ceiling. It was empty when I came to see it...More

See same for Battistero Neonianio -these are all UNESCO heritage sites and rightly so. All 5 and the main museums are all worth visiting.

I too liked this baptistry , even though it is quite small. It's a quick in and out. You'll spend as much time trying to find it, because it's behind the normal street exposures. I too liked this because of the Arian connection, which is...More
