Climbed many steps but beautiful views and worth the effort. Good value at 3e a person and the cathedral and Roman ruins ( forum) are close by.

It is so well mantained that you will enjoy everything about it. In the center of Trieste, great view, great medieval feel to it.

This attraction is not open on Mondays despite the times given on trip advisor so I cannot give an accurate review of it from inside. It is very pretty from the outside and in the same area as the roman forum. It is up a...More

Thanks to advice on TA, we did not consider walking up. Unless you are keen on walking up steep hills on hot days, take the bus. Museum was OK - not particularly interesting. The best part of the visit was going round the walls. Brilliant...More

We arrived shortly before closing and were nicely told that we couldn't go into the museum, but could look around inside and walk the walls. So we did! There were maybe two other people there and it was a beautiful time of day, so the...More

The museums exhibit some arms and some ancient sculptures, mosaics etc. No English descriptions whatsoever, only Italian. Then there's another museum of a photographer, for which you have to pay extra, we didn't go. The castle as a building is great though and provides a...More

We took the bus up the hill but got off at the location indicated on Google maps. It was one spot too soon. The bus continues around the hill top and stops right next to the Cathedrale di San Giusti, which is close to the...More

I felt the best thing about it was the view of forum, cathedral, town and sea. Also a small payable exhibition and a free one of monumental inscriptions (underground - good for escaping the heat)

Not much to see here. The only highlight is the view of Trieste which you can get without paying an entry fee. Use that money for the taxi up the hill to see the adjacent cathedral.

The best choice is to take the elevator into the parking backside Unità square. Then go downhill by feet in around 10 minutes. The bus ticket in 2017 is 1,25 euros for 60'
