A nice walk up , lots of stairs to be expected in the Cinque terre but great views especially on sunset. There is lovely terra-cotta seating just below the Castello where you can sit any time of the day and enjoy the beautiful scenery

It's a small old castle. Nothing special. You can see nearly the whole village and sea from there. If you have to pick a few villages among the five villages in Cinque Terre, maybe you can skip this one. The village is not as colourful...More

Day trip to all 5 villages. Make sure you are arriving by October. Great weather, no crowded and noisy.

Once you have seen the bay and did some trail, there is not a lot to do in Riomaggiore, so this is a nice little walk to do up in the hill. It's a really small old castle (free admission), nothing exceptional, but pleasant to...More

The track up to the top of the castle was well worth the wear and tear on my 50 year old knees :-). The trip up goes through neat little alleys that help you take in the charm of the village.

This place is 5 mins walk from town centre, but was closed to access and didn't have anything notable about it except for being old. Reasonable views from next to it.

Although we couldn't go into the fort it was a great view over the two sides of Riomaggiore and the Ligurian Sea. Worth the stairs for the view!

Getting to the castle through all of the small back alleys and stairways was half of the fun. The rest comes from enjoying the view from the castle and climbing to the rooftop to get a 360 view of the valley and Mediterranean.

The castle itself is not really much to see since it is just the outside, but the view is simply amazing. Get lost trying to find the way to the Castello and discover the cool alleys in the city.
