No credit card accepted!
Jul 2018 • Solo
I had visited their official website and don't remember reading anything relevant to not accepting credit card for ticket purchase. I was denied entrance, since I didn't had any cash with me at that time.

The woman there showed me a sign written in Italian, that mentioned the credit card denial. However, if you don't know Italian, then you can now know that, not that it would help, but just saying.

This museum is a bit hidden away behind a very nice park near Piazza Corvetto. It’s worth the climb to get to it. It has a nice collection of Japanese and Chinese artifacts mostly from the 19th century but many going further back. We were very delighted to see the collection of Samurai armour which are works of art. We were pleasantly surprised by this museum. Another delightful discovery was the waterfall just above the museum a short walk up the pathway. You can even climb up to a cave underneath the waterfall. If you like small, intimate museums and oriental art, this is the place for you.

A lovely collection via a peaceful garden

The collection is fabulous if you like Japanese art and artefacts. Some great samurai armour' tsuba and netsuke. Not a lot of info to inform you of what is on display, but if you have a very slight knowledge you will enjoy what is a terrific collection for one individual. The garden walk up to the museum is tranquil and a distinct contrast to a bustling city. A few paths are closed off and the aviaries no longer have any birds. Overall well worth a visit and very uncrowned - we had the place pretty much to ourselves

Disappointing

An interesting building, but the collection is presented with absolutely no background, just kind of thrown together. The walk climb through the park is certainly worth the trip. Just don't expect much of your museum experience.

Excellent, if a surprise
Oct 2017 • Family
The climb up the hill was worth it.
One might not expect a museum of Japanese artefacts in Genoa, but this was a really good collection, well laid out, and interspersed with some interesting glass art.
The setting is also good with a view from the top.
It was also good value.

Nice walk up and collection of Asian artifacts

The walk up with view was great, alleys through a hilly park . The museum is relatively small, but has nice artifacts.

The grounds leading to the Museo are incredible

The museum has very nice art facts but the grounds leading to the museum are truly impressive. I want to go back in late October when the leaves are changing

Only part open

The top 2 floors were shut so the prints that we especially wanted to see were not on display. We were the only visitors on a Saturday morning and lights only came on in the rooms a we walked past the sensors. It was also incredibly hot - no open windows so no air. We left hot & disappointed after 20 minutes or so. Avoid unless you are in the area.

Great if you're serious about Asian artifacts

I found my way to this museum (which isn't well signposted) on a hot June day. And was the only person apart from the staff in the museum. Compared to many Italian museums, I didn't feel particularly welcomed and there wasn't enough in the collection that interested me (my fault, not theirs).

Small museum

Very nice exhibition but half the place is closed. Finished the whole place in 20 min. Go only if you're in the area anyway.
