Beautiful day out
Sep 2020 • Family
A sunny, breezy day in Nervi with lunch at Bagni Medusa. Beautiful seaview table. Incredibly friendly welcome and staff. Food delicious. Price-quality ratio very worthwhile.

Fantastic view over the Ligurian coastline
May 2019 • Couples
Passed by this restaurant on our coastline walk from the train station along the Nervi promenade and noted this would be an ideal place to enjoy lunch. Located on top of a small cliff with a rock cut in swimming pool below the restaurant deck and expansive views along the coastline, does not get any better for Nervi restaurants locations. Om a balmy late May afternoon, the restaurant was not crowded and the enticing view lured my wife and I to sit down for a couple of hours to enjoy a leisurely lunch. Regardless of the view, the main issue is the food and the Bagni served up reasonable food at slightly higher prices than most Genoa restaurants would. I had the swordfish and mixed salad, was tasty for a lunch meal. Service was good, with the young waitress being attentive and speaking quite good english. Free wi-fi was available, however smoking was allowed on the outside deck so if you are sensitive to cigarette smoke , you will have to eat inside which would dampen the experience, Overall was a very enjoyable afternoon, not so much for the food (which was OK but not outstanding), but heightened by relaxing on a outside deck, soaking up the views of the Ligurian coastline whilst drinking Ligurian wine and enjoying the wonderful ambience of a seaside restaurant location

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER
Aug 2018
Bagni Medusa get over yourself! Even though I was given a place. My family and I were given different seats. This was one of the first restaurants we visited and this place was definitely a bad first impression. Thank God the rest of Nirve was nothing like it. If you want to experience people at their worst than come here.

OUR FAVORITE LOCATION ON THE ADRIATIC COAST
Aug 2017 • Couples
My wife and I spend all of the summer months in our home in Larino. But one of the joys of our annual visits is the LIDO MEDUSA located right on the shores of the Adriatic Sea, a short distance from Termoli’s “Vecchio Borgo”, a remarkable – and intact – medieval walled city complete with a defensive tower built some eight hundred years ago. The LIDO MEDUSA was once the American Officer’s club during the Second World War. That’s likely where the unusual name comes from. Think of the last three letters: USA. This past summer, almost every day, we would drive the 25 kilometers from our hill town to the beach. The MEDUSA is a family enterprise and we have become very fond of the entire family, Simona, Aldo, and their father (Romanino) and mother. The establishment consists of a little bar and restaurant, cabins for changing, netted areas for volley ball, and a large number of orange and green umbrelloni 9literally “large umbrellas”. Each beach area has its own hues, so the stretch of beach extending to the north is a rainbow of colours. Medusa caters to families and to many people a stay here is a annual tradition. Parking is inexpensive. One Euro for the first hour and 20 cents for each additional hour. We’d normally arrive just after lunch and would stay to watch the sunset. We’d combine swimming with lengthy walks along the beach front, often hiking an hour or more to the north, and then an hour back to our deck chairs. You can take advantage of the patterns of the day. The Italians (and there are almost no tourists) arrive early and leave for a large part of the afternoon. Similarly only a few stalwart souls actually stay for the sunset, so the beach is often not as crowded as you might expect. The beach is pristine and well cared for. The water is clear and clean. Visually the setting is stunning and there are probably few places in the world where the season rental (and the relatively inexpensive parking) is available. In essence, therefore, you can live inland in one of the scores of little hill towns and spend your days sunbathing and swimming. This, after all, is Italy and the weather is predictably incredibly beautiful . It’s paradise. Mind you, if you get tired of lazing in the sun you can actually walk in five minutes to the Pedestrian promenade in the centre of the new town where you can enjoy a gelato, an expresso, or just an opportunity to see the holidayers in their late afternoon passeggio. Who could ask for anything more!

Happy vibes
Sep 2017 • Couples
Good place for a little music, sun through the windows and a wonderful view, towards the coast. It even has its own rock pool you can swim in.

Really nice, chilled atmosphere, but with a happy ambience / energy.

The pizzas we had were delicious. The service was attentive and they even served us food after the kitchen officially closed (thankfully!) Appreciate the extra accommodation the kitchen and waitress made today.

Highly recommended for groups or couples, even families (some kids loved the rock pool!). Attention to detail was made here, so perhaps some competition for the older looking establishments along the coast line.

Worth a visit. The view by the coast line and the rock pool are a must see.

We had dinner in the restaurant. The food was delicious and the views were stunning. The restaurant specialises in seafood. It was very busy so I would recommend booking a table.

Delicious fresh seafood in a beautiful setting!
Aug 2016 • Couples
We decided to go to Nervi one late afternoon in August and had made no reservations. Although fully booked, the owner let us have a table and we promised we would leave by 9 so the people can get their reservation. We had the grilled seafood platter with some of the freshest seafood we have ever enjoyed and a delicious peach cake! The view from the terrace was stunning and the cost for the meal half of what we paid in other restaurants during our trip to Italy!

Best Seat In The House
Aug 2016 • Couples
A visit for lunch one day after stumbling upon this coastline restaurant. Staff were extremely friendly to us as non-Italian speakers. Booked in and returned for dinner the following evening and given the best seat in the house overlooking the salt water pool and sea waves. Waiter kindly translated main dishes. Tasteful shabby chic interior and extremely clean bathroom. Highly recommended!

Breakfast annoyed by service mobbing 45 min prior reservation to be fulfilled
Jun 2016 • Friends
The stunning place made us decide to go there twice. On Saturday and on Sunday morning for a late breakfast after a wedding the night before. The service was not friendly as I arrived at 1130 and waited for more friends. It was clear that the table, the worst positioned so the last choice for them to fill it, was booked for 1315. My friends arrived in the meanwhile til 1230. The waiters and the lady at the cashier especially were so impolite that we almost had to argue, which is not our style at all. They kept mobbing us starting 45 min before the guests had to arrive. We are sorry but even if the place is well located and the tables are fully reserved for the families using the sun bath area, the level of service is not even average with the attitude of a 4 star. The small difference is that at a 4 star and above KINDNESS is a basic rule. Otherwise you are fired. So professional is not the ideal word for this venue. And of course it's not cheap.
