Nice museum if you've got 1 hour to visit

The museum has a nice collection of large cannons and hand guns, as well as some old communications gear. It is a nice pace to go if You've got 1 hour !

Excellent museum with many naval stuff (cannons, miniature boats, medals, flags, guns from different periods). Perfect for a rainy day (it was in that day). Ticket only €1.55

Went in the naval museum to get out of the rain and only €1.55 entrance fee but found it fascinating. A lot of displays of various naval boats and warfare and artefacts, but my favourite was a photographic exhibition of expeditions in the 1960's and 70's,particularly the ones to a base in Argentina. Some stunning photos

I guess I had not done enough research about this museum, which was part of a day self guided in Spezia. At the time of writing, some of the best bits of museum are closed for 'refurbishment' and the rest of the museum, whilst of interest, particularly to specialists in the area, is in a sorry state. On our visit,... More

As a sailor I have the pleasure and opportunity to visit both naval and other maritime museums all over the world. As a devotee to the life on the high seas, these museums are something I never miss to put on my schedule when in port. This time I entered down the gangway as a passenger from a cruiseship. First... Great collection of old torpedos, predating wwii. Rest of displays are just naval guns sitting on display. As a whole the displays need cleaning and arrangement. Museum seems like one that is under renovation, but can't see that any work is being done. Low cost and quick makes it worthwhile.

The website looked really good. However, when we visited, most of the museum was closed as it was undergoing refurbishments. The only part we saw was torpedoes, diving suits and nautical armaments. We were really disappointed.

Was interesting to learn about history and see submarines that were once used for war, and weapons. Place is not too big, and if you want to just browse through this place it would take you about 40 min-1 hour.

This museum is way underrated. First, the entry fee is basically a donation of €1.50; I think at €10, it is still a great deal. The vast and varying amount of naval equipment and gunnery is astounding. Old sailing ship figureheads (wooden decoration on the prow of the ship), anchors, rigging are displayed throughout. One of the best torpedo collections... More
