Went to Ventimiglia on a day trip by train from Nice. It‘s a nice old part of this small Italian coastal city.

Fantastic location just above the new town and along the coast from Nice. Proper earthy Italy with some very friendly locals and stunning architecture!

Ventimiglia is a pleasant small town to visit. Its Friday market is huge and fun to visit . . . whole town is "crazy." Lots of excellent restaurant and the boardwalk is an excellent place to spend a sunny afternoon for "passeggiata." You can also...More

We travelled from Nice by train and headed for the Old Town across the bridge where we found a wonderful beach with restaurants and cafes to sit at and admire the view. Definitely worth the visit.

If you want Italian style with realistic prices go to Ventimiglia, so Italian, so beautiful. The restraints in the old town or the sea front are wonderful and the prices are not like Monaco only 20 minutes away. Style and class

Note that the old town of Ventimiglia is tiny. Very tiny. Still it's worth of seeing and climbing up 200 meter of uphill (huh). Picturesque place - and quiet especially if you compare it to the noice and traffic in the new town of Ventimiglia....More

September 19th is Tuesday, as far as I can see. The Friday market starts approximately at 9 a.m., maybe even earlier, as they have food there, too - local cheese and ham, spaghetti, olive oil, etc. I guess it's true that... More

There is plenty of parking just outside the Old Town. Best to park in the Square which is just near Ventimiglia Marina near promenade. Hope this helps.
