Small cappella with ornate exterior and interior

At the top of Piazza Vecchia, this small cappella has an attractively detailed exterior and ornate, dark interior. It's worth a quick visit.

The detail of the architecture of this building is impressive! Everything around is a testimony of the once wealthy province that was ruled by Venice. Hence the lions everywhere :)

Read a bit of the history of the man Colleoni and you'll be fascinated to see this chapel. The multicolored stone facade is stunning.

Shares the facade with the Basilica - not to repeat myself, one worth more than a look. Great gates, again, level of detail highly appreciated. The staff seems to compete in who-kills-more-tourists-that-dare-to-carry-a-camera and probably all achieved expert levels in this competition. Given their attitude and likely queues, I guess the capella becomes a tourist trap on a busy day. Well,... More

A beautiful chapel located beside the Basilica, but no pictures allowed. The ornate interior is worth the short amount of time needed to see it.l

Definitely make a stop here when in Bergamo, and learn the history of the Colleoni family and this beautiful chapel with tombs of the family.

This is tacked on to the side of the church and is an interesting little jewel. Well worth looking at but not in the same league as the neighbouring churches

As you enter the chappel, you are amazed by the artwork, carpet, wood carving, marble,... More

Located in the Piazza Vecchio. The inside of the chapel is typically ornate, painted and gilded. Luckily I missed the tourist office recommendation of finding the Commanders coat of arms on the gate and touch the lucky testicles! Tip - avoid visiting on a Monday if you are keen to get into the Museums as quite a few places are... More
