Baroque architecture
Beautiful seventeenth-century building in the center of Milan, the State Railways have finally left (although they remain the owners) to give way to a more appropriate regional headquarters for Cultural Heritage and tourism in Lombardy.
The palace has an important portal with two giants, in the style of the Omenoni palace, which support the convex balcony. Corinthian-style columns run from the first floor to the third floor.
Above, the attic gable (completion wall element) with two statues supporting the coat of arms of the Litta family, one of the illustrious families of the Milanese aristocracy
The inner courtyard is also beautiful

We visited here on the walking tour on the way to the Sforza Castle.
Palazzo Litta, is an artistic baroque palace that dates back to the 17th century. It is opposite San Maurizio al Monastero Maggiore.
Thanks to Count Bartolomeo Arese who was from an influential Milanese family, it gained importance and it held grand society parties.
It is now used as a theatre.

Although from outside building is not as beautiful as some other palaces in Milan, it was a home of very influental family, hence the big importance.

The Baroque palace built in the 17th century by the architect Francesco Maria Richini for the Count Arese, one of the most influential politicians of the city. The palace was an important center of Milanese social and political life with many parties organized here for very important guests of the city. It is a splendid structure, a bit pompous mixture of Baroque and Rococo, but still very impressive.

A baroque palace, beautiful building in the old town. It was built in XVII century and was a home for Arese and Litta families - Milanese influential houses of the time.

You will have to find out when it is open and I believe that now one only goes through it with guides. In any case, this was one of the most important palaces in Italy and hosted among others Mozart and Napoleon, who was reputed to have had an affair in the palace, entering it by a secret door which is duly noted. I guess not so secret. What has mostly been restored of Richini's original conception is the piano nobile and it is definitely worth a stop if you are visiting San Maurizio, which you should. Down the street is the Pasticceria Marchese, so you can fortify yourself after the visit, though I think they may have opened a cafe in the Palazzo itself.
