Another beautiful building in Milan, housing rail tracks and high end stores - Victoria Secrets, Calvin Klein and more. There are plenty of ticket machines for the different train companies that operate out of Centrale along with company personnel to assist however there are 'helpers' standing every few metres ready to offer assistance who are beggars looking for your change... We arrived here from Venice and just like what Milan is generally synonymous with, this station is no different and is filled with fashion and style. Packed with shops & restaurants, the station feels more like a shopping mall than a train station with numerous high-end stores located within. Names like Victoria's Secret, Calvin Klein, Guess, Zara & Nike can... More

Wow, this building is impressive inside and out. It's the central train station for Milan and very busy but if you're here, stop and take a look around to enjoy the architecture.

Having been to Grand Central, Chicago Union, and all the grand train stations in London and Paris I thought I'd seen it all "train station-wise". Wrong! Much to my wife's annoyance (we were freshly arrived from JFK and laden with baggage) I toured the place, gawking up like a little kid on their first visit to Disney-Orlando. If you are... More

Milano Centrale is one of the most beautiful train stations I have seen in the world! Designed as the symbol of the Fascist Italy, Milano Centrale brought an impressive revival of classical architecture as the city's main train station. Behind the imposing front facade is a grand hall that is followed by an even grander canopy over the train platforms... More

Far too many dishonest, homeless and poor and less fortunate people stay here and do not seem to want to leave when you want them to go away. I was here many years ago long before the range of calendar dates suitable for indicating the time of my visit were made available for completing this review. Train personal did help... More

Staying in Stazione Centrale

Neighbourhood Profile
Stazione Centrale
Central Station represents a bridge towards the future. Impressive skyscrapers and new age buildings stretch the skyline with the majestic Unicredit Tower cutting through. Surrounding it are large towers that define Piazza Gae Aulenti, where the fountain and the Monumento Trombe leave one breathless. A famous building of the district is the Vertical Forest, where the innovative materials and trees planted on the terraces are a unique mix of nature and man-made construction. In the district, there is the Monumental Cemetery, known for its antique tombs with sculptures portraying angels of commemorative scenes many will find touching.
