We were taken here to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary, it was a total surprise to me, my husband and elder daughter had planned it. A delightful Lake, slightly off the beaten track, and well worth touring around to find delightful little unspoilt villages.

One of our favourite places in Europe. Lake Orta is just beautiful. Great water taxi services run regularly from San Guilio.

Nice and quiet place. Less touristic than the bigger lakes (Magiore, Garda) and lots of things to visit. Not to far from Torino or the Aosta valley.

We went for a swim in this lake and it was so warm! We found a public beach near camp Allegro, there were a few other people but it was still nice. Nice view of the island on the lake when swimming.

Great little lake, had a wonderful meal in the old town, went to visit Francis Sanctuary which was very interesting, and amazing views of Lake Orta. Can't wait to go back.

We came to the town to catch a ferry over the Basilica on Isola San Giulio. The town on the lake is delightful with its narrow streets, pasta and liquor shops and many cafes/bars. It was very pleasant walking around the town and sitting on...More

Being smaller than the Maggiore & Como means this Lake is more intimate than its more famous cousins Beautiful surrounds & medieval village of Orta San Giulio is great to wander around although does get it share of tourists
