The trekking path is really beautiful and there are many different ways of walking it. However, one side of the path drops steeply to the valley and it's nothing if you are afraid of heights, although there are cable ropes to guarantee your security.

Followed the advice of FondoTraveler when looking for things to do in this area of Italy. Great clear instructions on how to get to the basket lift up to the walking trails. Loved the winding drive up to the top then the 15 minute (or around about that) basket lift to the trail. Lots of different age groups of people... More

If you are in the area this is a MUST do. The trail is about 8km long and fairly level. For real fitness buffs, Hiking up... More

This footpath is a 5-day walk around the magnificent Texel Mountains. To give lesser mortals an easier taste of the trail, take the train from Merano to Naturns (0916am) and turn left out of the station to get the 261 bus going up the magnificent gorge called Schnalstal (or Senales in Italian). Get of at the tiny village of Katharinaberg... More

We thought one of these reviews should be in English. We are local American residents and we have been coming here for 15 years. The trail is fantastic as are the lifts. We suggest the following itinerary: Drive to the village of Velloi, which is above Lagundo. From these, take the 2 person bucket lift to the Leiteralm. This is... More
