An infinite snowy area that begins at 1,524 metres, in Valtournenche, embraces Breuil-Cervinia, rises up to 3,480 metres of Plateau Rosà, touches the 4,000 m peak of Piccolo Cervino, climbes up to 4,478 m to the top of the Cervino. An area where the infinite snow continues on the Swiss side to Zermatt. An area where the snow is the setting of sport, holidays and fun. The tourism vocation of Breuil-Cervinia Valtournenche had it’s beginning more than two hundred years ago. Excursionists and academics were the pioneers of a tourism that united sport, scientific study and intellectual exchange. In 1936, a new Breuil-Cervinia was created. The construction of the first cable car was a cutting-edge work of engineering excellence. The Hotel Gran Baita situated at the foot of the slopes, with the cable car departure station annexed to it, anticipates by over half a century the concept of an integral complex for skiing. Breuil-Cervinia became the Queen of the snow. From sport to cinema, politics and commerce, those who count meet here. Innovation, in Breuil-Cervinia Valtournenche, is the key word. New ways to practice sport, new ways to enjoy a holiday, new services to allow more free time. The technology is not limited to the rapid lift systems, but also to the territorial fibre optic network that allows the information to be transmitted in real time. Time and space dimensions have changed thanks to the e-skipass, to the keycard and to the hotel reservation system via the internet. 350 thousands web navigators every month visiting the site to check out the webcams, weather reports, lift status and snow conditions. In Breuil-Cervinia Valtournenche, collaboration between the operators in the area guarantees guests quality and state of the art solutions.

So may runs, mainly for beginners and intermediates. Long open spaces. Lovely centre with restaurants and cafes. Not much else to do in the evenings, everything was closed (ice skating, karting) This was end of season so maybe different during peak ski times. Skied many places, definitely one of my favourites.

I am a avid skier from California that enjoyed skiing in Cervinia. I wouldn't go to Cervinia if all you want is to ski expert runs. We have lots of those in the US. What you get from the Cervinia/Zermatt ski experience is like none other. The mountains are vast and the views are unbelievably breathtaking. Traveling from the US... More

Great ski area, great for starters. In case of wind lifts will close for safety, but with some luck great slopes, in the sun! We will come back! Nice cafetaria:s on the slopes, not to pricy, nice food, very friendly staff.

Plain looking town but fantastic setting. Snow sure due to the altitude but suffered from extreme weather which makes days subject to frustrating lift closures etc. Enjoyed the long, wide runs and the full extent of the Zermatt and Valtournenche areas gives you plenty to get your teeth into. Apart from the lack of more difficult runs (Zermatt has more),... More

2nd trip. Superb, highest altitude skiing in Europe - great for an early or late season holiday. You can ski over to Zermatt - wind permitting - to add variety to the wide long distance, blue / red cruises which Cervinia has in abundance. High, sunny aspect gives this resort great views, but beware of the occasional biting wind which... More

Lots of slopes to choose from with fresh snow. It was early in the ski season, so not all of the cafes on the slopes were open.

The ski resort of Breuil- Cervinia is a great resort since it is high enough to get mainly natural snow, it is connected to Zermatt as well which is always nice since you can extend dramatically the number of slopes by paying an upgrade and finally the quality of the slopes preparation is very good. I would add that the... More

I loved Cervinia and its fabulously wide and open slopes. There was nothing that was too challenging and for older skiers and beginners it offers superb safe skiing without the hectic craziness of resorts that attract the younger testosterone charged variety. 85% of the slopes are blue and the rest red. Virtually no snowboarders at all (what a relief) and... More

Wonderful runs, well maintained lifts and snow sure. We skiied in mid April and the snow was still good, expect icy mornings and slush on the lower slopes, but overall a wonderful option for April skiing.
