Yoy arrive there and you cannot believe that a 'dwarf' island is there. And they sell fish and seafood in the morning. There are nice cafes and restaurants all around and you feel on another planet.

During the mid 1800s the fishmarket, which used to be at the Piazza dei Signori was moved to this small island in the Cagnan Grande (just under 400m twards the northeast). Redeemed from the bad odors the Treviso gentry lived happily ever after, but the fish sellers must have felt relief as was well. The canal at the isolotto has fast running fresh water. Containers with live fish could be lowered into the canal.

Nowadays the market is active in the morning. During the rest of the day it is a quiet place in a picturesque setting. Enjoyable to relax (no bad smells).

Clever idea to move fish market from piazza dei signori to this Island in '800. Check out the shops, wine bars and lovely spots around here, it is such a nice place to have a walk đź’•

Made a bit of an effort to get over here in the morning basedon other reviews. If you are in the area, go ahead and walk through, but it is not really much. Just a sleepy little fish market. Not much to buy unless you have a kitchen and want to make a fresh fish dish. Just not really a terribly touristy thing to make a point of doing.

The town's fish market centrally located on a small island on the water way. Morning fish market and afternoons quiet. The site is occasionally used for evening food and entertainment events through the year.

I lived in Treviso I would have come to this Isolotto (little island) every day.
Aprroaching trough the bridge is so beautiful to watch at the clear water flowing right below. The fish is so fresh, I want to start cooking right there on the spot!

.. since in the morning there is the actual fish market, so must be quite animated. In the afternoon the stalls are empty, but it's still worth a visit and a walk through it.

A fish market has occupied a river island in Treviso, a small town north of Venice, since 1841. The setting had become decrepit and there was talk of demolition, but the commune decided on renewal. Architect Toni Follina gently reshaped the island in a form reminiscent of a barge, repaved it with local stone which can be hosed down easily, and provided new shelters with tiled roofs on each side for the fish stalls.

Live fish are kept in baskets in the river, made accessible to stall-holders by several flights of steps. The central fountain provides cleaning water as well as giving a ceremonial focus, and a lightweight glass roof gives a strong sense of centre. Outside market hours, the island serves as a park with trees and green banks round the edge, while bridges at both ends allow a promenade across it.

This unique marriage of commerce and nature is a thing of wonderment and the only sadness from the tourist's point of view is that the produce cannot be brought home.

We visiting Treviso in the evening, the fish market is already closed, but we seen the stalls fish market there, and pretty clean. With river surrounding the trees changing colors, autumn is here, make the place so lovely.
