On our list from the beginning
Jan 2019
Museo Civico Luigi Bailo was on our “Things to do” list from the planning period of our visit to Treviso. We were inspired with this choice, because the museum is interesting, well-organized, located in a building with a modern architecture and well devoted to the museum purpose.
We admired works of local artists from the period of 19th and 20th Century. A special collection dedicated to artists who created between the two world wars is also displayed. In this museum there are paintings, sculptures, graphics, drawings and ceramics.
The museum is open Tuesday to Sunday, from 10 am to 6 pm and the entrance fee was 6 euro, October last year.

Fantastic
Nov 2019
Museo Bailo was most definitely one of the highlights of my day in Treviso. Great 19th and 20th century art museum, with works by great italian artists such as Luigi Serena, Gino Rossi, Luigi Borro and Arturo Martini. Arturo Martini is the museum's highlighted artist, but I far preferred the more academic works by Luigi Serena or Luigi Borro. Nevertheless, a very well organized and interesting musem in a masterpiece of contemporary architecture.

Nice little museum

The Museo Bailo is a relatively new and modern museum showing a collection primarily of local artists from the last century. Modest but very nice collection, if you like art it is worth a visit.

So glad we found this beautiful museum. Located in a quiet part of Treviso. Modern building with plenty of light - perfect to enjoy the wonderful collection of Treviso artists' works. Everything from painting, sculpture and prints. Well displayed. Also enjoyed a temporary modern exhibition. Reasonably priced and very pleasant, helpful staff.

This is yet another beautiful building where old and new have been merged into a light, bright and arresting whole.

The seeming majority of the material is a very extensive collection of works by Arturo Martini, as we follow his creative life through 2d and 3d art forms. Following in Arturo's footsteps - with just the right amount of information on the gallery walls - made the journey so much more enjoyable than simply going from room to room, or period to period.

Treviso has a lot to be proud of, and Martini, Bailo and this Museum are essential elements.

Beautiful New Old Museum
Feb 2017 • Friends
I visited this wonderful museum for the first time been so I had spend time in Treviso before. Most of the featured artists were from Treviso, old and new new and remarkable. Treviso is the capital city of the Veneto region, a beautiful city with great tradition and old money I am told. It is not a city like Napoli where folks are very friendly, actually Trevisiani are not the friendlist folks you are to meet. Still I found them graceful, well informed and happy to share the glory of this citta dell'art that lies in the shadow of its close neighbor Venezia. Venezia is a very simple short commute from Treviso, adn I would stay in Treviso for peace and calm, great food and more and take a bus or train to Santa Lucia Venezia for long days in the beautiful city of Venezia. Museo Civico Bailo is superb even in comparison to Treviso's amazing neighborhood. I loved the recent exhibition of Trevisianis, both painting and fabulous sculpture.

Exploring Treviso during Christmas would not be complete without a visit to local museum. A combination of "old masters" in completely new environment makes you an instant art lover. It is one more Trevisian touch directly to your soul.
