It's fair to say that we are about as far from Opera fans as you could get but we wanted to give it a try and decided on going to Musica a Palazzo as it came highly recommended. We were not disappointed. Set in an old "palace" this is a real treat and a great experience. Limited to 70ish people... More

We prebooked having read about this on TripAdvisor . I wanted an opera experience in Venice but the main opera house was sold out ) and very expensive ) then I found this . All reviews are right . It is a challenge to find - in the dark it would be impossible ( down an alley off the Main... More

Dates: July 2 (La Traviata), 7 (Love Duets), 8 (Il Barbiere Di Siviglia), 2015 (delayed input) In 2015, we brought our two grandchildren (boy 12, girl 10) to three of the series during a two-week stay in Venice. These were their first operas and based on their reactions, most likely not their last!! The voices, the acting, the accompanying music,... More

We have been to traditional operas in big theaters before, and I hesitated before going as I really like big orchestras and I did not know if the quality of the music and the show would be as good with a small group of signers and musicians. Turned out that the music was excellent, the actors are very good and... More

While it was a fine way to spend an evening, it will not make a opera lover out of you. The idea was good however.

Never been to the opera so a fantastic way to experience it for the first time!!! You are very close up to the performers which makes it even better. You absolutely MUST find the venue during the day (or the day before as we did) as it's not easy to find. Head for the Hotel Ala and if you find... More

In terms of age the casting might have been slightly inaccurate for the youthful La Traviata but it did mean that we were wonderfully entertained by the two experienced principal singers. A delightful experience in this old building. Do undertake some reconnaissance beforehand, though:the location is not as well signposted as La Fenice , and up an easily missed alley.

As opera virgins we didn't know what to expect when we booked La Traviata. We had read reviews and decided to find the venue well in advance, so that we would know where we were heading. I'm pleased we did as it is a nightmare to locate!! But what a place and experience!! The performers are superb, the venue is... More

We saw the Barber of Seville here and loved every moment of it. After each break the opera resumed in another room of the Palazzo. Full of fun and entertainment. It is one of the musts when visiting Venice. The Palazzo and its history is amazing.

This was a great experience - you get to see opera up close, in a beautiful space through multiple rooms. If you're not a huge opera fan you'll still enjoy it.
