For a cheap, leisurely tour of the Grand Canal, walk or boat to the beginning of the Canal at Piazzale Roma, and take the slow vaporetto all the way up the Canal to San Zaccaria stop at St Mark's. Get on early to get an...More

We travel to experience cities that are different to where we live and the Grand Canal certainly creates this difference. Nowhere else do you get collected from the airport by a luxurious speedboat with upholstery in the style of a leather Chesterfield couch and beautifully...More

On a Gondola this water is a little more rough, but the views are awesome! I prefer the small canals through the city though.

We used the local vaporetti to cruise up and down the canal. Wonderful! And a great way to see Venice.

The basic cost is 7.50 one way and 10.00 round trip (Euros). 1/2/3/6 day passes cost 20/30/40/60 Euros. As for size, my best wild guess is that each one can hold about 30 people. But that's only a guess.

It is not a price per person. You pay a flat fee for the ride if its just the three of you or if you add two more people assuming they could fit. We were there in November and the price, if I remember correctly, was 80... More
