The walk to the basilica from the train station was pleasant and not to far from the Accademia located at the tip of the Dorsoduro quarter of Venice. But it is most easy to get there by water taxi. The basilica has a wonderful history...More

It's a beautiful space for worship, contemplation and enjoyment of art. It's fairly accessible in terms of location and opening hours and should be a natural point to come by while in Dorsoduro neighbourhood in Venice. The place is accessible for baby prams.

Has to be on your Top 10 in Venice - it’s like a gorgeous white wedding cake of a church, as lovely outside as inside. What a contrast to dark gaudy St Marks! Generally not plagued by hoards of tourists. Fantastic views from the front...More

We walked in to look at the church and heard the organ playing. Admission was free and we listened to the recital.

One for itself and two for its location. Being there you will receive another impression from Venice. Small hint is that some of the paintings of Tiziano are inside the basilica but I will leave to you their discovery.

This is a lovely church on the banks of the Grande Canal. Very photogenic and a popular site with tourists. Catch the water tram to it.

What a stunning place, inside and out. For an added treat consider a visit at 3 pm when someone is playing the organ. Magical to sit on a bench and just listen and see the art and architecture. The mosaic work is fantastic!
