I spent a half day tour with Alvise and enjoyed my time with him. He tailored a tour through the back streets of Venice. It was quiet and peaceful. His knowledge of Venice is encyclopedic and he was generous with his insights into Venetian culture, politics and history. We watched Venetians go about a normal day, before passing through the hordes of tourists in the popular area. Alvise is genteel and passionate about his city. He made reservations at a trattoria that specialises in Venetian food. It was really, really good. It's called Osteria Al Pozzo Roverso. Ask for Andrea - his hospitality is outstanding. Thanks Alvise! I requested a visit to Murano to see a glass factory visit. It felt like a tourist trap, but was not the fault of Alvise, as he did his best to anticipate what I wanted. The watertaxi ride was excellent. Alvise is great. Give him a go.

We had an in-depth tour of St. Marks and the Doges Palace with Alvise and were totally engaged with his presentation. There is no end to his knowledge on every topic. He had answers to our many varied random questions but also expertly kept the tour on point so we would not miss the key facts about Venice--historically and socially. He is extremely polite, courteous, patient, and a great ambassador for this fascinating city. We wished we had planned additional tours with him.

We had one full day in Venice and contacted Alvise regarding a personal tour. He was very prompt in his correspondence and recommended an excellent itinerary. He met us at our hotel and we began our day on foot. He whisked us through the crowds, showed us the highlights with just enough information plus was fun to spend the day with. He showed us some wonderful parts of the city we would have never seen on our own. Alvise is a native Venetian, so his knowledge of the city is amazing! He also arranged for a private water taxi to take us throughout the Grand Canal, plus over to Murano and Burano. I would recommend Alvise to any of our friends and family without hesitation! we have found Sabine mail through internet and she has been very responsive in our short term demand. We have booked 2 tours : 3 hours for saint marc church and ducale palace and 2 hours from rialto to saint march. Sabine is a great guide who knows a lot of thing and who can communicate her enthousiasm! additionnally, her price is really fair (and much more cheaper than others guides I have contacted) I strongly recomment to book a tour with Sabine if you want to visit Venezia

After much review I booked two half day tours with Alvise. The email communication was great and he was extremely helpful in planning our two days in Venice before we left on our Mediterranean cruise. I was disappointed when Francesco introduced himself as Alvise's brother and informed us he would be conducting the tour in place of Alvise. However Francesco was extremely personable and knowledgeable and proved to be an excellent substitute. He took us to the glass factories and backyard gardens that we would not have found on our own. Venice is a beautiful city that I would definitely like to return and spend more time exploring. Francesco recommended a wonderful restaurant for dinner and was very flexible and accommodating. Highly recommend Alvise's brother Francesco to anyone looking for a great tour of Venice. GREAT JOB!!
