Visited with my adult daughters on Friday night to start my Birthday celebrations weekend with bubbly at this beautifully decorated bar. We enjoyed a bottle of Italian sparkling wine in the rich Venetian style decor on the sounds of live piano performance of famous Italian songs. Great experience!

To be honest, i expected something a bit smarter. The area right next to the bar is quite sumptuous but it gives on to a large hall, so the atmosphere leaks away, especially as the hall is not all that wonderful for somewhere as plush as the Danieli - a terrazzo floor that would not look out of place in... This bar is located in the very nice Danieli Hotel - offering 1st class service and a great ambiance . Quite pricey but , in my opinion , worth every penny . The service was excellent ; drinks were served with a very nice assortment of canapes . They had a pianist who was a very good . Next time... More

We went to the property to have dinner on the roof, however this small restaurant was at capacity. We had dinner and drinks in the bar and had a great time! The staff was accommodating and went out of their way to seat us, move us to a more comfortable table for eating, and making us feel as if we... More

I was told I should come to the bar here for a cocktail. It was great advice! Lovely ambience! Wood beam ceilings, stained glass, lush upholstered chairs and beautiful chandeliers all lend to luxurious experience! Well worth the money. I ordered a Spritz with Aperol. It was delightful! They also serve snacks with your cocktail. Black olives, purple potato chips,... More

Great Bar to relax, grab a drink before Dinner or a lite snack after a long day discovering Venice. Polite friendly staff, Aperol spritz a must and who knew the Pianist plays well in to the night and takes requests! Great people watching-overall just a really pleasant, comfortable and fun atmosphere.....the Danieli does it right.

This is a lovely lounge bar in the great Danieli hotel. It is comfortable with a wonderful old world feel. Service is top notch. A really nice place to meet for pre or post dinner drinks.

We were staying at the hotel in early August, and in the evenings after dinner, we would sit in this bar for a coffee and a limoncello, or an amaretto, and listen to the resident pianist singer. He was great, as were the waiters!

We came to the hotel after a recommendation from a friend. The hotel Danieli is absolutely stunning and did not disappoint. It is worth coming in for very expensive drinks as the interior decor is stunning and the pianist singing was amazing. The hotel to stay is costs a fortune and almost gives me drive to be ambitious and be... More

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
