My daughter loves books. She could have spent the day here. It is so much fun to look at all the books and watch the gondolas cruising by right out the back doors! Hint: if you have younger children keep an eye out for the...More

While we didnt see it during high water, this bookstore was one of the neatest we have seen! While there is no order to the place (that we could see), it was fun to get lost amongst books upon books upon books. They also had...More

Make sure you make time to visit this book store. It takes time to navigate Venice, so leave yourself plenty of time to browse when you arrive. The books are piled high. There are treasures to be found, but it may take you a while...More

So many books, piled high and some outside (strange....but not for sale) and their own cats wonder about the place. Amazing and worth a visit. They even have a chair to sit in right by the canal.....with its legs in the water, well they were...More

We visited it with a local guide, it was a big discovery. Even if you don't read Italian and don't need to buy books, don't miss this unique place, with a real Gondola full of books and a nice view to a small canal.

If you are a book lover of old books and libraries, you just can’t miss this place. It will stay in your imagination forever. They have books piled on boats, including a gondola, stacked to the ceiling. There are resident cats, and the back door...More

This is a really cool, quirky and interesting book store. There is a really cool photo opportunity out the back on steps made out of books and a good selection of books for sale in the store. Try and turn up early if youre after...More

This is a wonderful bookstore that anyone visiting Venice should go and see and shop at. I could go into endless descriptions but it's best you find it and explore it for yourself. Highly recommended.

On a quest to visit the world's most intriguing bookstores or libraries, Acqua Alta was in my top three. The entire purpose for traveling to Venice centered on finding this bookstore. While my husband and I ended up with very little time in Venice, having...More

Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri

one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime

Whenever I have been there during the day it has been open, so 09.00 (maybe 10.00) to 18.00 is usual. Even Sunday I think. Regards
