Lovely hidden bookshop, but we just went for the bookshop steps at the back. The bookshop itself is stacked with books and has a lovely selection of photos , pictures and old photos too.

Undoubtedly unique in its kind, I have never seen something similar before... books everywhere even in a gondola... great balcony with book-steps driving to great view. Book smell around... Although I really wanted to buy a souvenir from this overwhelming with books store, I found......More

I love books and bookstores. This was one of the few places I really wanted to see in Venice. It was horrible. There was nothing particularly interesting about the used book selection. It was all in Italian, which is not a huge surprise except that...More

After visiting The Bookshop in Wigtown, Scotland last year, I thought I'd seen everything in second-hand bookshops. Not so. Even though almost every book in this shop was in a language I don't read (e.g., "I Molluschi della Laguna di Venezia"), it was absolutely fascinating....More

Just being amongst books brings me joy, despite the fact that I may not be able to read the words within them (I don’t speak Italian!). Like any good used book store, this place exudes character, and with books loaded in old gondolas and bath...More

DO NOT BUY STAMPS FROM THEM! I initially thought it’s nice to get postcards from this quaint dusty shop overcrowded with nostalgic books. Was told by counter girl they have international postage & got 4 totaling 10€. She simply tore them off a book and...More

Fascinating and unique bookshop with some cats thrown in. A real rabbit Warren to explore of books including a whole gondola full. Mostly Italian but some English and plenty of books to interest travellers. Cats treated almost like royalty given precedence over books!

A little bit hidden like everything in Venice but what a hidden gem. The cat of the owner says hi at the door. The show is filled from the ground with books, boats and even bath tubs! A must see!

This is worth a visit, you literally walk on books. The book selection takes you way back, good selection of cards and old prints

Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri

Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated
within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over
one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime
neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side
streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals

Whenever I have been there during the day it has been open, so 09.00 (maybe 10.00) to 18.00 is usual. Even Sunday I think. Regards
