Some consider part of it to be the oldest church in Venice. It is easy to miss as one heads to the Rialto Market, so take a few moments to step inside. Beautiful main altar and interesting façade with a large clock. The church is...More

It appears to be a museum with a few interesting and old musical instruments, but set in a church! The church itself faces a small square and fountain, which is just off the Rialto Bridge. It's worth 10 - 15 minutes to look around with...More

Very close to the Rialto is this lovely old church in a really nice square. The church has an unusual clock with one hand , great for photos. There is a nice fountain in the square.

Traditionally said to be the oldest church in Venice - an inscription on the left-hand pillar in the chancel says 421. Legend goes even further and claims that the church was consecrated at noon on the 21st March 421, this being the date that the...More

Came here to marvel at this wonderful old church, consecrated in 421 AD. Many tourists will miss this as they cross the Rialto Bridge and head for the fruit and produce market in the square immediately in front of it. It also houses a magnificent...More

This church is supposedly the oldest church in the city, dating from 421, but documents are lacking to substantiate this claim. It is located in the sestiere San Polo not far from Ponte di Rialto. It is noted for the large 15th century clock above...More

The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the
Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six
sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest
neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the
markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops
display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San
Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi)
stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San
