The bell tower has fabulous views across Venice and there's a lift so you don't have to walk up hundreds of stairs! Was a little busy when we went but still worth it for the views.

It costs money for the water bus but if you get a day pass and do a few of the islands it's worth it. Only €6 or €4 for students and great views with way less people and there's no wiring so you can sit...More

Best view from on high in Venice. There is no queue to go up the tower and its cheaper than the tower in San Marco.

Great location, surprisingly easy to get to, beautiful white facade. Inside the theme is continued, with a spacious, airy theme interspersed with some serious artwork. I decided not to pay the 6 euros to ascend the campanile once I saw the queue, but I've no...More

Main building is free, but you can pay to take elevator up in the campanile. However, we happened to visit on a Wed when the various art exhibits were closed, so we didn't have access to as much of the grounds as we hoped. For...More

Do not miss San Giorgio. The church design is by Palladio and we loved the harmony of the lines. Make sure you go up on the Campanile (it has an elevator) best views of venice and the lagoon

Questions & AnswersAsk a question
Do I need to purchase two vaporetto tickets to visit San Giorgio? (One to get there from San Zacharia and a different one to get back?). Or can I use the same ticket to return if still within the ticket's time limit? I do not wish to buy a day pass. Thank you

We always buy a vaporetto ticket for the week we are staying in Venice so I am not sure about the ruling on two separate trips. I my view it is probably just as cheap to buy a day ticket and you would be able to hop on and... More

We have always visited in November and December so difficult to say but as others have said both would be ideal. From a photographic point of view the early sunrise is particularly good from the San Marco side looking toward... More
