One of the highlights during my visit to Venice was discovering a husband and wife team who practices true artisanship. In search for a leather bag, I found this small boutique with hand-made purses and beautiful jewelry. Anna, one of the owners, was so gracious and helpful. Not only did I buy two gorgeous purses, I also walked out with... More

Went into browse, beautiful items hand stitched by the owner. Bought a lovely wallet for my husband as a reminder of our trip. My daughter loved the leather bracelets with Murano glass beads. Unfortunately they were a little small for her wrist. No problem at all the gentleman's wife makes these and custom made one for my daughter in her... More

Shop was full on interesting leather designs and excellent craftsmanship items. Found the shop by recommendation from Frommer's guide, but was blown away by the merchandise. Had not planned to buy things for myself but could not resist. Only problem was selecting from the variety of leather colors and shapes because I liked them all. I purchased a handbag and... More

I read about this place and wanted a true Italian artisan leather bag. I left with 4 bags. The bags are designed and made by a husband-wife team. They are expensive but not as expensive as designer bags. It was thrilling to watch the man make bags in the store. The leather is gorgeous. The bag that I bought with... More

I read about this store on Trip Advisor and wanted to check it out. We found it when not looking for it. I purchased a men's wallet for myself. The owner was very nice and she explained the craftsmanship of my wallet. I generally will not pay a lot for a wallet, but for the quality, it was well worth... More

Most of us think of the great Italian cities as places to buy leather, and the tourist trade responds accordingly. In Venice, the artisan stalls packed up decades ago, and hoards of generic goods now fill the shops. Bags spill out of doorways and are crammed into shop windows along the tiny winding streets. They are brightly coloured and modestly... More

Visited today and this shop is heaven for handbag lovers. Small but comprehensive range - beautiful detail and quality. Was shown one bag with a variety of large Murano glass buttons to customise for the clasp - was amazed at the difference it made to the look. Highly recommended - post Christmas sale started today. Don't forget to ask for... More

This shop was my best shopping find in Venice! The owners are accommodating and great people, Anna who designs the handbags and husband Giorgio who creates them. All the handbags are lovely, but those handsewn by Giorgio are stunning! You can choose from those in the shop or order a design in colors of your choice. There are also matching... More

I bought the most beautiful purse here 3 years ago and insisted on going back this time for another leather treasure. Each purse is like a beautiful piece of art, stitched together by hand with loving care by the owners. There are cheaper purses in Italy, but many are made with Chinese leather and/or knockoffs. This store is the real... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
