We had just come from the amazing markets in Sicily and the San Benedetto Market is a good one. Go early in the morning to feel like one of the locals. Top floor is produce, meats, cheeses and baked goods while the bottom floor is an amazing fish market. If you like market shopping then go here.

If one truly wants to learn about a local region in Europe then a trip to the local market is a must. The local vendors at Mercado Comunale Di San Benedetto, Cagliari sell everything from honey; seafood to include local fish, shrimp/langostinos, mussels, oysters, octopus, eels; wax covered and soft cheese in various shapes; to brightly colored fruits and vegetables;... We walked from our apartment in Castello to the market in around 10 minutes. This is where the locals shop and the produce on offer is fresh as fresh and looked very inviting. If I were staying or living in Cagliari this is where i'd shop.

One of five markets in Cagliari - great for fish and meat (cattle, sheep, horse, rabbit, goat). Also cheese, wine, bread, cake etc etc. People were very friendly despite my appalling lack of Italian, they were even happy to vacuum wrap goods coming back to the U.K. Good little coffee bars and all in walking distance from quay.

San Benedetto is not the biggest market that you can find, but it is nevertheles very nice and offers a great variety of local products. The AC is a bit exaggerated especially in the summer months, so get ready to shiver after a couple of minutes. We bought some fresh ricotta bread, pecorino and fruits for a simple lunch and... More

We visited this market after seeing it on Tripadvisor. Had to google the address. It was a huge market with lots of seafood, meat, veggies, cheese & fruit. I can absolutely recommend to visit it if you're in Cagliari.

Visiting friends who live in Cagliari. Our friend shops their weekly and is known by most stallholders. Spent a lovely couple of hours...tasting all fresh produce Lol.

Not to be missed indoor market with meat and veg on the ground floor, fish in the basement (follow the smell and flies). We drove into the city from our villa and found it really easy to navigate and park (courtesy of T Hotel). Impossible to park next to the market but couple of streets away lots of on-street parking.... More

Great to visit! If u a seafood lover, it's a must. First floor is seafood, second fruits, meats, milk produce. Interesting to see local specialties and prices. Good choices! The market is not big, you can do the entire thing in 30 min. Buy local specialties. Good prices!

Amazing cookies in the low floor. Cheap fruit and excellent horse meat. Remember, it's closed at 4 pm.
