This is one of Italy's best/most diverse botanical gardens. There are also some small Roman ruins within the garden. It has the widest cactus and succulents I have ever seen. This is a great place to cool down on a hot day and to get out of the touristy areas.

A calming oasis in the middle of the city and with fine views of the Roman Ampitheatre. Main exhibits clearly labelled and helpful and welcoming staff at the kiosk - interesting walkway with plants mentioned in the bible with references!

A lovely place to sit and enjoy the shade, the greenery, the trickling fountain and also fascinating to see some of the interesting plants. Wear some insect repellent though, we got bitten on our legs after going there.

I'd envisaged a couple of hours greenery, possibly sitting with a book. After paying €4 and collecting plan and plant list I made my way into a rather grey garden. But there were interesting plants to see. However halfway through I was attacked by voracious mosquitoes biting through my clothing. I moved away from the water and into the sun... More

The Botanical Garden is about 5 Euros entrance and takes about 1 hour to walk around. There are public toilets but no where to eat or drink as far as we could see. There is plenty of shade so if its a hot day its not too bad. There are lots of unusual plants and trees, a pond with water... More

We love visiting gardens in every city we go to, I'm not an expert gardener but I love looking at plants from around the world. These gardens are lovely, they're not massive but it is well designed and very beautiful. It is definitely worth taking the short walk to visit them, the entrance fee is only 4 euros and they... The Botanical Garden has the most amazing collection of cacti! We were impressed initially because we were given a map to follow and brochure which explained things in English. Most Mediterranean gardens are disappointing but this one was excellent and we spent 1.5 hours there. Look for the tortoises.

If you like botanical gardens, you will enjoy this. It is a large area not so far from the center of town. However, it is more for research reasons than for display ones, because there are many of the same species, and out of season not many are flowering.
