Took the PQ bus's from Cagliari marina area Jumped off near the hospital and wandered along. Lovely sandy beach cycling/jogging lanes for those who need to. Pedestrian paths. Cafe's seemingly every 100yards or so offering snacks to full meals. In summer believe there are sunned rentals. Definitely with a visit. Walk to the other side of road and can see... More

It's a lovey beach, however there are a lot of people selling things like towels and constantly come up to you, which isn't very relaxing! Also, there seem to be 'private' areas in this beach although they are not sign posted and you will get told to move on or pay. I think there are more relaxing beaches to go... More

Australians are spoiled - we have great beaches! - but Poetto is up there. It is a short bus ride from the Cagliari bus station (PQ or PF bus E3.5 return) and we went on a January day that was cool but the sun was shining. So we walked along the beach for at least a kilometre - nice soft,... More

The best Place for Fun, Sea and Sports. Recently Renewed the Lungomare is a very cool Place to be. The Beach is great and my top Tip is the Hotel Nautilus #158 and the magic Alessandro.

Quiet during the period I have been, November. Restaurants mostly closed, Jacaranda I would definetly recommend. And for cycling use Sardinia Cycling

7 km of well-kept beach with plenty of cafes, sunbed/umbrella hire, public areas, cycle and running paths, lifeguards, showers, palm-tree lined promenade. You need to get a bus from Cagliari but it only takes 10 minutes and there are plenty in the summer. Popular with local people. Some nice restaurants too. My experience is that the water is calmer in... More

It's easy to get here -- take a PF or PQ bus (the P seems to be for Poetto). It's only about four miles from downtown Cagliari. I've run here along the running path that starts downtown, continuing through Molentargius Nature Reserve (where you can often find flamingos, especially just before sunset in the summer). They've recently redone the pedestrian... More

...but still attractive. Over the years, the heavy seas (albeit very infrequent) have taken the beautiful white sand away, but the water remains crystal-clear. The road closest to the beach has been shut down a few years back. In its place, a lane for buses, one for cyclists, and one for joggers. Many small bars along the coastline. I still... More

We were fortunate to visit after the tourist crush had ended (late September) so had the very long 8 kilometres of beach mostly to ourselves. A smattering of other beach goers along the shores but that was it. Sand is soft underfoot and beautifully white and the water was crystal clear. There were cafes and bars open but we didn't...
