Getting to Acicastello from Catania is the best part of it, you drive along the coast towards north and you enjoy the smell of the sea in addition to the colour and the sights. Houses along the road are somehow hidden, the rich Catanesi like understatement and they love privacy.

Stopped by for an afternoon visit. There was some metered parking about 1/4 mile south, as there is a little park and square directly outside the entrance. The castle is closed from 1 to 3, so we went for some lunch and came back at 3. Only 3 euros for entry, well worth it. The castle has a small museum... More

The drive along the coast from Catania in the open-top bus is stunning, and the castle is very dramatic against the blue sea. On a sunny April day it was perfect! Well worth driving out to from Catania.

Excellent opportunity to see the city higher up. Worth the 3 euros! You could feel the history in the air with the music in the background from the man playing the guitar in the street!

We took the red bus to go there (possible also to get there by city bus) and we had a great time to admire the view, small streets of the town and the walk to Aci Trezza along the sea. I did not expect such a nice place!

Picturesque medieval castle jutting out into the sea. Beautiful shoreline. For us nature lovers, this was the best attraction in Catania! [NOTE: Mount Etna (one of the highlights of our visit to Sicily - see my review), is NOT really in Catania, although it is listed as such on Trip Advisor.]

A beautiful little town/village not very far from Catania, with beautiful sea view. Easy to reach by bus 534 (only 1 EUR) from Catania. Same bus goes to Acistrezza and the distance between them can be done on foot, to enjoy the beautiful coast view.

It is easier to get to neither to get out. Really there are no timetables at the bus stop so you do not understand what direction to take. Another thing that buses go by different street and nobody to ask because only very little people speak English. My experience by getting out of this area, was some time for waiting... More

I find this area is a little overestimated by the locals so I'll not give 5 stars. However, it's worth a visit if you have some 1 -3 spare hours and fancy a walk by the sea.
